4 Days Semuliki

This is the lowest lying and remote of Uganda’s national parks, an extension of DR Congo’s Ituri rain forest set at the base of the northern Ruwenzori. It has 40 Congolese bird species recorded nowhere else in Uganda. Nearby, is the spectacular Semuliki Wildlife reserve which abuts Lake Albert and is one of the best localities for sighting the enigmatic swamp dwelling Shoebill Stork.

Day 1: Entebbe Airport

On arrival, you will be met by our staff at Entebbe Air Port; he will help you with your luggage to the car and transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay. He will brief you about Uganda and your travel itinerary.

Day 2: Semuliki NP.

After breakfast drive to Semuliki game reserve. It enjoys a dramatic rift valley setting between the Ruwenzori, the Kajura escarpment and Lake Albert. The reserve was heavily poached during the seventies but populations once again are increasing. It abuts Lake Albert and is one of the best localities for sighting the enigmatic swamp dwelling shoe bill stock while Lions, Elephants. Cob, Water bucks, Jackals, Genets and Mongooses are some of the wildlife you can see. After dinner you will go for a night game drive.

Day 3: Semuliki National Park

After an early morning breakfast head west to Semuliki National Park. This is the lowest lying and remote of Uganda’s national parks, an extension of Congo’s Ituri rain forest set at the base of the northern Ruwenzori. It has 40 Congolese bird species recorded nowhere else in Uganda. The jangle life in Semuliki National Park is breathe taking for birders, primate and plant lovers. The jangle walk takes you up to the meandering river Semuliki, the only one of its type in Africa. You may also see Forest Buffaloes, Elephants, Sitatunga, Leopards, Crocodiles Various primates and a wide range of forest and water birds, if you enjoy sport fishing then here is the opportunity.

Two hot springs are situated in the track of hot mineral encrusted swamp land, where visitors see a two meter jet of 130 degrees celicious hot water and a 12m diameter pool of oozing boiling 106 degrees celicious boiling water. You could actually boil an egg naturally within 15 minutes and eat it.

Day 4: Kampala

After breakfast go for an early morning game drive; proceed to Kampala and transfer to Entebbe Airport for departure.
